| Job Description: | This position functions as the Assistant Manager at Pigeon River FWA. As delegated by the Property Manager, this position has accountability for managerial, supervisory, administrative, and wildlife/habitat management responsibilities at this FWA. Incumbent applies professional scientific knowledge and techniques in planning, conducting and evaluating Department programs to manage and enhance Indianas natural resources. Work includes writing and implementing work plans to comply with DFW Comprehensive Management System, preparing and administering property budgets, administering the property inventory system, and participating in information and education activities on the property and throughout the State (tours, presentations, etc.). Other duties include supervision, training, evaluation and discipline of subordinate property personnel, administering the DNRs safety program and responsibility for habitat management work necessary to reach property and division objectives. Position reports to the Property Manager 2, at Tri-County FWA.
Assist with planning, supervision, development, maintenance, and management of a fish and wildlife area in the absence of the Property Manager. Operates the facility in accordance with laws, rules, and policies. Supervises and participates in wildlife management activities according to current practices and investigate new techniques or methods to improve habitat. Assists manager with property administration and management, training, safety, information and education, maintenance, construction and repair projects. Compile and interpret biological data and adapt wildlife management practices to reflect data. Author and prepare critical review of project plans, work unit budgets, planning activities, meetings, committees and training. Track expenditures and purchase supplies and equipment. Ability to manage a petty cash account. Operate facility in an emergency. Schedule and provide educational opportunities at the facility. |

| Qualifications: | Bachelor of Science degree in wildlife science or related natural resources field. Must be able to hold a valid driver's license. | |
