Candidate will work closely with graduate student conducting monitoring efforts for CERP and thesis work. Duties include aerial surveys of wading bird colonies, nest monitoring, behavioral observation of foraging birds, data collection, data entry, and database management. | |
| Qualifications: |
Candidate should have a BS in wildlife biology or a related field, must be highly motivated, and willing to work extensively from airplanes and airboats. Candidate should be extremely organized and detail-oriented. Field work does involve long hours in subtropical wetland field conditions (muck, heat, humidity, insects, alligators, snakes, etc.). This includes working early mornings while still maintaining a positive attitude. Preference will be given to candidates that can demonstrate experience with one or more of the following skills: (1) excellent bird identification skills, (2) spatial data management (GIS, GPS, etc.), (3) and plant identification, (4) wetland field experience, and (5) sampling from small planes, helicopters, or watercrafts.
Salary: $2200-$2400 a month without housing. Housing may be provided with adjusted wage.
